Tehsil Liaquat pur is a town and administrative centre of Liaquat pur in Rahim Yar Khan District, Pakistan. It is located at 28°55'60N 70°57'0E with an altitude of 95 metres (314 feet). It is situated exactly between the main cities of Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. The main railway line connecting Lahore and Karachi passes through this city and a small railway station is also in this city. Liaquat Pur is the biggest Tehsil of the Punjab by area but it still stands in the row of undeveloped city. The city is covered by the villages and canals from all sides. The main business is agriculture. Almost every second citizen is engaged with Agriculture directly or indirectly.
Tehsil Head Quarter Hospital, Liaquat Pur was established as 20 Bedded Civil Hospital in 1950s and later upgraded to 60 Bedded THQ Hospital in 1991.The Sanctioned strength is of 60 Beds only but we are providing Services of over 90 Beds. Currently this Health Facility is providing Services of 30000+ OPD patients, 5000+ Emergency patients and 1000+ Indoor patients monthly. The major challenge for Primary & Secondary Health Department is to boost the confidence of general public in the primary health care system. The reality is that most of the institutions at secondary level are not currently providing health care services up to the desired level, owing to multiple factors including large patient influx, scarcity of resources, human resource deficiency and non-functional equipment. Due to lack of planning and monitoring, the past efforts did not conclude in the shape of integrated health care regime rather these have resulted in haphazard construction, poor maintenance, lack of basic facilities, absence of waiting areas and shabby outlook. Resultantly the patients prefer to visit tertiary level hospitals for treatment of even very common ailments. With this in view, the department under the guidance of CM Punjab has decided to proceed massive revamping of 40 THQ & DHQ Hospitals in 2017.
